Pat's Rescue Fund Round-Up

Donate

Hi everybody,

Well here we are, almost at the end of another year and what a year it's been in fundraising for the rescue fund. We have had, competitions, raffles, caption contests, the face of AGPC, calendars, cookbooks and lots more besides, finishing off with the grand Christmas Raffle.

Along side the usual fund raising for the rescue fund, we have been raising funds so that Angel can have her operation and all the proceeds of the Cookbook for humans is going to that fund, we are hoping that after Christmas she will have her first leg done and then we can see how she manages before having the other leg operated on.

I would just like to thank you all for the fundraising efforts you have put in this year, it's been brilliant, there has been so much enthusiasm to help out from collecting recipes, through making parrot meals, donating fabulous prizes to the raffle, to drawing parrot portraits, thanks you so much. I know I keep saying it but every little helps, just buy buying a keyring or fridge magnet, that adds to the pot, it's money that the fund wouldn't have had before, so please if you want anything, give me a shout and I'll get it sorted.

Then we have Easyfundraising.co.uk, to all the members and friends that have done their shopping through Easyfundraising a massive THANK YOU! Just by shopping through Easyfundraising, we have collected a massive £220.28 since we started in March of this year, so it wasn't even a full year! If you know any friends that shop online, give them this link to go through www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/agrf and we could raise even more funds for nothing next year.

To say this year has been hectic is a bit of an understatement, there has been something happening in one way or another all year, hopefully next year will be even bigger and better because there are more things in the pipeline. So, all that's left for me to say is I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with friends and family and a properous New Year to you all.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Tezza's Forum Round-Up

It's time for a little round up of recent happenings in and around our forum. It has been full of merriment and festive cheer. There was no stopping Mrs. P ( aka Julie/piker), the Ninja wrapping paper assassin. Despite the best endeavours of us mods, and staying up late at night to catch her ... she managed to, over several days unwrap our little secret ... revealing a sneak preview of our great big "surprise" Christmas raffle ... shame on you Mrs P!!! Talking of the

Christmas raffle, what a fantastic selection of goodies we had.

Thanks to the best efforts (Including bribery, nun chucks, and striking the fear of god into suppliers) of Lady Patricia, our chief fundraiser, moderator and goddess - we had a bumper selection, and a MASSIVE ticket sales total. Many thanks to all those that took part, it really has made a difference.

And now to the draw itself ... what can I say? We were treated to full length feature movie, complete with adverts, singing (Of sorts), dancing, poetry, and even a selection of hilarious outtakes. Thank you so much Pat & Daryll, that must have been a huge amount of work, but you made so many people smile ... it was brilliant.

The Parrot cookbook was a great success, thanks to the culinary skills of Fanny Cradock aka Mrs P! and of course Pat for putting it all together. Our Pat may be older than most, but you have to admit, she is a little hottie on that printer! Our little grey friends will be the best fed African Greys around.

We continue to attract new members, and share lots of useful knowledge around for the benefit of African Greys far and wide ... and of course manage to have a lot of fun with each other at the same time. It really has been a hectic time for many people, but we still managed to contribute to the forum on many levels, which just goes to show how much it means to us all - let’s keep it that way folks, and continue going from strength to strength.

And as if there wasn’t any more excitement to be had, Santa emptied his secret little sack through some of our mail boxes on 17th, and those taking part were delighted with their special gifts. Poor Paula ... she missed out this year, and got nothing :-( ..... Let's all say awwwwwww. The secret Santa was a lot of fun, and hopefully will be a bigger event next year.

On a very sad note, I'm sure you will all want to join me in sending love and hugs to Karen, who sadly lost her treasured little Baby grey "Ziggy", who passed away unexpectedly in the early hours of the morning. He was one very special, much loved little grey, with a fantastic mummy ... Karen, our thoughts are with you.

So, that's about it for the time being, and all that is left to say is a huge thank you to all the forum members for keeping us the best around, for taking part and raising lots of money for the fund ... which is doing much to save greys from otherwise misery.

Have a fantastic Christmas, and I look forward to much more merriment over the coming months.
