Well well well. So much for been scared of new toys…. Casper is really wary of new things like most Greys. I usually leave a new toy on the floor by his cage for a couple of days then hang it on the outside until he shows an interest in it. Then it gets put inside for him. I had been in the loft and found all the baby toys we had put aside for when we got a Grey. This particular one is a shape sorter. Every hole has a button which when pressed or the shape is put in makes a noise. Also when your hand or in his case his head goes in the top of the jar, it plays a tune.
Well I put it down on the floor as usual and he was off the top of his cage and on it like a bird posessed!!!! Ok so he hasn’t worked out the shape thing yet but loves pressing the numbers and repeating what it says……Circle hahaha, Heart I love you etc etc. He does enjoy putting all the shapes in the jar and then getting them out again. He was so tired as we put the shapes one end of the room and the jar the other. So funny to see him running back and forth haha. He did not want anyone joining in beyond that though. Its my game and I am not good at sharing yet thanks very much!!!!
He was at it for over 2 hours and not a peep from him except the incessant noise the toy makes haha. My sofa was left alone last night hahaha.
Haha thats awesome! Glad to see he is so happy! Always has been a bit of a brat mind you, like you said he isn’t one for sharing yet bless him =]
Im Jennys daughter by the way, thank you for giving him the loving, happy home that he truly deserved =] x
Hi Kim, nice to hear from you
A brat you say??? Some nights I can see what you mean, full on tantrums haha. Good job I work with children with full on behavioural problems!! I am not sure I was quite prepared for a Grey’s varying moods. His favourite toy at the moment is the toy that comes from a smoking quit kit. Everyone on here is ordering them. They are strangely calming and therapeutic, however his lordship sees it as his mission just to dismantle it and watch that daft human put it back together for him!!

Hehe yeah he has had them tantrums as far back as i can remember! Mainly when he wants attention or whatever food it is you have at the time! Its funny that he likes the quit smoking kit because when he was with us his fave toy was an empty cigarette packet! He loved throwing it around an ripping it apart! Its funny that he is now playing with a QUIT smoking kit haha
Kim x
Brilliant Anne-Marie!!! Strange how he took to that straight away. When I bought him his big cage it took me 3 weeks to get him in it and then I had to sort of trick him by putting goodies in the new one and taking his old one away.
The moods………well he is a man after all
Oh whats the smoking quit kit never heard of it?
Jenny
Its called a tangle toy, just loads of links really. I noticed toy manufacturers have seized the opportunity and made friendship bracelets and toys from a similar thing. He spends ages taking it apart link by link whilst I sit here like some hand maiden to him, putting it back together again. A slave to a Grey, never thought I would say that hahaha
